About the holiday home

Welcome to this nice and very centrally located apartment in Strömstad. Here it is close to everything Strömstad and the surrounding area has to offer but also a short walk to the train station, the bus station for travel to all nice bathing spots around Strömstad and the ferries to Norway and the Koster Islands. Start the day with a morning walk down to Kallbadhuset for a dip and then stop for a good breakfast along the promenade's servings. Then you are ready for today's excursions to the sea, beach, city walk or why not a round on Strömstad's fine golf course. Then take an evening walk to experience and stroll on the piers in the bustling guest harbor, eat at a restaurant or outdoor restaurant, shop or just enjoy the sea air on a sofa in the park. Also take the opportunity to enjoy some seafood, especially the prawns from the depths of the Koster Sea are a real delicacy.

From Karlsgatan's sidewalk you reach the property's entrance. On the inside, take the first apartment door on the left. Once inside, you are met by a combined living room and bedroom, here is a sofa group, TV and a comfortable double bed. Via a small staircase you reach the kitchen area with stove, microwave, fridge / freezer, coffee maker and dishwasher and a bathroom with shower. Access to a washing machine is in the basement in the laundry room common to the property. The apartment has a fiber connection. At the back of the property there is a small terrace area common to the property with garden furniture and barbecue facilities, here you also get a glimpse of the sea and the harbor area. In Strömstad there is a large selection of activities, rich restaurant life, pleasant shopping in small shops that are close to each other or why not just sit and enjoy all the boats in the harbor area. From the villa you walk, take the city bus to the city center and all the entertainment or to the bathing places that there are several to choose from. If you want to experience islands and the archipelago environment, there are several boat charters and bathing boat trips from the harbor in the center to several archipelago islands such as. Furholmen or Kosteröarna but also to neighboring Norway. It is also possible to rent a boat or kayak for your own exploration trips. For those interested in golf, there are several 18-hole courses in the area.

The midsummer party in Sweden is truly unique. To many it is a symbol of the lightness, the light and the life force symbolic of the Nordic summer. Midsummer in Sweden is the biggest celebration of solstice in Scandinavia.

When the most Swedish of Swedish parties approach, the whole country is exited. Midsummer is traditionally a feast celebrated with family and friends, but if you are a tourist you are welcome to join the festivities. It is celebrated all over the country - by the coast, in the skerries, by idyllic lakes, in the mountains or one of the islands. All is good, as long as there is plenty of pristine and diverse nature around.

Before the holiday

Rental agreement and route description

Shortly after booking holiday accommodation through DanCenter you will receive your booking confirmation by post. This confirmation constitutes your rental agreement and contains all necessary information. On the first page you will find information the addresses of your holiday home and the key pick up place, as well as a route description. At the bottom of the page there is a detachable post card for ordering miscellaneous extras, which can be useful to have while on holiday. On the following pages you will find the invoice for the stay you have booked complete with transfer order/inpayment form, stating the due date.

On arrival at the key pick up point, you will be asked to present your rental agreement whereupon you will be handed your key. More often than not electricity, water and other charges are included in the rental amount. Where this is not the case you will also receive an electricity-envelope on which the meter readings of all consumption dependant expenses are to be noted upon arrival as well as departure.

Notice of arrival

If you wish to rent a boat or engine however, you need to give notice no less than a month before arrival.

Time of arrival Arrival can take place from 4 p.m. on the day the rental period commences. If you expect to arrive at a different time please arrange this with the contact person in advance. Contact information can be found on your rental agreement.

Extras

On the detachable post card at the bottom of the rental agreement, miscellaneous extras can be ordered - however only those stated in the description of your holiday home.

All holiday homes are equipped with all kitchen utensils necessary for the maximum amount of persons, which the house can room. Bed linen, dish cloths, table cloths etc. can in some places be rented.

On the post card you can also order the final cleaning, if this is mentioned in the description of your holiday home.

All extras must be ordered in conjunction with sending the notice of arrival no less than 14 days before commencement of the rental period. If you wish to rent a boat or engine however you need to give notice no less than a month before arrival.

What is a cleaning audit charge?

We charge customers a small cleaning audit fee to prepare the room for the next guest, even as some outgoing guests prefer to clean the room themselves. Are such guests still required to pay a cleaning charge? Yes. Please let us explain.

While we appreciate guests cleaning the room themselves, we nonetheless conduct an audit to ensure that the room is in excellent shape. The cleaning audit fee we levy is for the time and effort involved in checking that our cleaning standards have been met, so that we can provide our customers with the best experience.

Pets

If you have rented a holiday home in which pets are permitted please remember that it is a lengthy and quite difficult process to obtain all necessary permits for the import of pets to Sweden. Therefore please contact the Swedish Tourist Board or embassy well in advance.

Ferry connections and bridge crossings

If you have booked a holiday home in Sweden you can either go via Copenhagen across the Øresund Bridge or take a ferry. The bridge toll is 225,- Danish Kroner/crossing. If you choose to go by ferry please remember to order your tickets well in advance.
