“A beautiful old house, probably from the 1920s/1930s. It is half of the original country house, which was once split, the other half is empty. It is beautifully situated on top of a hill, with a view from the garden / terrace of the beautiful town of Bouillon and the medieval castle. Fairytale-like. On the terrace there are 2 large picnic tables and a bench. Too bad you can hear the provincial road there, but it is very nice that you can also hear the wolves and the donkey from the nearby animal park ;-) The view from the living room (where there is also a dining table) is also beautiful, you can fully enjoy it through the large windows. It was a shame that the fireplace could not be used because the chimney is broken. Hopefully it will be fixed before winter, because that makes it complete. The bedrooms are spacious and attractive with many original features, and furnished with antique furniture. The beds are generally good, except for the box bed in the attic; a new, firmer mattress could do with that. That bed is fine for singles or children, for a couple it is a bit awkward because 1 person is always closed in against the back wall. The kitchen is well equipped and spacious. All in all a good price/quality ratio!”

“Fantastic location. We have been able to stay here during both the summer and autumn holidays. From the living room and two of the four bedrooms you have a beautiful view over the valley. The terrace is beautifully landscaped, as are the garden rooms, the stairs and the beech hedges. The house and furnishings are dated, but that is part of the charm of the house for us. Even if you do not use all the rooms, each room is still worth a visit. Furthermore, all comforts are provided. Reception by the owner, and on a previous visit by his brother, was very friendly. One speaks nice Dutch, the other English. Both were very helpful. Parking is possible in the driveway, but requires some skill and caution when entering and exiting. The house is higher in relation to the street, so luggage has to be lugged along a number of landscaped natural stone stairs anyway. You can reach the lovely center of Bouillon in a few minutes on foot. The way back is a bit more difficult after a few beers or wine, but still doable. ;-) Also within walking distance: the local go-kart track and the charming zoo of Bouillon. In the evening you can hear the donkey braying from the terrace and the wolves and dogs howling. Small minuses: the traffic from the nearby highway can be heard even better in autumn. “This was truly an amazing stay with my wife, son and my parents. What a beautiful location. And what an amazing view! Sitting in the garden is just pure enjoyment. The house is beautiful and old. The furniture is old as well, but that only adds to the character of the house. House was clean, and everything is working fine.There is room for 2 cars parking in front.
